FAQ's

When do practices begin?
*Ninth Graders: Please see below for your practice times.*
For all in High School:

  • Morning Practice OR (See next bullet): Every Tuesday and Thursday, starts at 5:00 A.M.
  • 4th Period Team Conditioning: If you have this class, you don't need to go to morning practice if you don't want to. Class starts at 1:15, otherwise, you'll be marked tardy.
  • After School: Every day. Practice begins at 2:45. Please be on time (meaning, in the pool, actually swimming your warm up.)
All Ninth Graders
  • Morning Practice: Every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 A.M.
  • After School: Every Day, practice for you starts at 3:15. Don't be late, hustle to the pool!
PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!!! It affects you a lot more than it affects the coaches, but don't waste their time, be on time to every practice. This means all the lane lines in, flags up, everybody in the pool, goggles and/or cap on, ready to begin your warm up.

What do I need to bring to practice?
Most everything that you need will be provided for. The only things that are essential to practice are 2 pairs of goggles (in case one pair breaks), a suit (one pieces only, for girls), a towel, and a cap is optional and recommended for girls. If you want, you can bring your own pull buoy and kickboard to practice, but those are provided. Other items commonly used are hand paddles, and flippers. Both of which are provided by the team. If you'd like some recommendations, talk to someone on the team, and they'll point you in the right direction.

Do I need to have any prior swimming knowledge upon entering the first practice session?
NO! We don't expect you to either. We will teach you everything that you need to know to be an amazing swimmer.

How hard are the practices?
Your very first swim of the year or first swim PERIOD is extremely hard. But, after that, things only get easier. Don't let the difficulty of the practices in the beginning discourage you from being the Titan Swimmer that you want to be.

Where do the practices occur?
All practices are held at the Clearfield Aquatic Center from the end of school to about 4 or 4:30 in the evening. Again, you'll have plenty of time to do homework, and that's a promise.

Where can I get all the stuff I need for Swim Team?
The best place to get it all from is online. It's just cheaper that way, by about $5-$20 usually. The place that I get all my stuff from is call Swim Outlet. Here's a link to it.
